Natures Tears® EyeMist® - Dry Eye Definitions - Evaporation

Evaporation:

Evaporation: The ocular surface would be completely dry were it not for the protective lipid (oil) layer produced by the eyelids' meibomian glands. In a normal eye, only a small percentage of tears evaporate but when dry eye is accompanied by meibomian gland dysfunction (as is often the case), evaporation can increase to nearly the total amount produced.
